Students in my narrative podcasting independent study produce “Ear of the Tiger,” a series that through a narrative journalistic style tells compelling stories about people and issues on Towson University’s campus. We meet weekly to pitch ideas, create storyboards, write interview questions, review tape and edit the work. Collaboratively, the podcast team creates several episodes a semester, including a subject profile, explainer, news analysis, oral history and personal narrative.
Listen to stories from the spring 2019 semester about the future of student newspapers and the influence of RateMyProfessors.
Students in my sports journalism and multimedia reporting capstone courses also contribute to the “Ear of the Tiger” podcast with preview and feature stories, and roundtable discussions on their work.
